Carl R Thornfeldt, MD
Dr. Carl R. Thornfeldt is a practicing dermatologist with 30 years of skin research experience, 15 U.S. patents granted and over 50 scientific journal publications in the area of treatment of skin diseases and conditions, including chapters in six dermatological textbooks and authored the book Ideal Skin Health published in 2010. Along with these accomplishments, he has also spent nearly two decades focusing on researching the skin barrier, cutaneous inflammatory conditions, delivering ingredients and herbal medicines.
Dr. Thornfeldt's drive towards expertise in the dermatology field stems from his struggle with skin disease as a child. He understands the personal struggle our patients go through. He finds intense satisfaction in helping all of his clients regardless of what type of condition ails them.
Dr. Thornfeldt received his M.D. from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Soon after, he spent three years in family practice for the U.S. Navy then completed his dermatology residency at University Hospital, San Diego, California. While running his private practice and conducting research, Dr. Thornfeldt has co-founded and held the position of CEO at several privately and publicly held biopharmaceutical technology companies.
Dr. Thornfeldt has presented at numerous international, national and regional scientific meetings.
In 2003 and 2005, Dr. Thornfeldt was selected as one of the top 50 doctors in the U.S. by The Sinatra Health Report. He is the only dermatologist on the list.
He enjoys mountain climbing, swimming, skiing and traveling, especially with his wife of almost 40 years. He has 2 adult children.
Tiffany McCray PA-C
Tiffany McCray PA-C received her Bachelors of Health Science degree from Idaho State University's Physician Assistant Program in 2003. She is a certified Physician Assistant with a special interest in dermatology. Tiffany joined CT Derm in September of 2003.
Mrs. McCray enjoys working with patients and providing effective treatments for their skin conditions. Whether the treatment outcome is preventing skin cancer or just helping one feel better about themselves, it is the patients' satisfaction that makes this job professionally fulfilling. She is an active member of the AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants) and the SDPA (Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants).
Outside her position at CT Derm, Tiffany enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three daughters. They enjoy skiing at the local ski resorts in the winter. In the warmer months they enjoy camping.
D. James Barclay II PA-C
D. James Barclay II PA-C has been fortunate to live in the Boise area since his family moved to Emmett in 1994. He attended Boise State University, receiving a BS in Biology in 2003. In January 2008, he graduated from Touro University - Nevada with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
Shortly after graduation, he passed the NCCPA certification exam and began practicing as a PA in Family Practice. He enjoyed the two and a half years spent in Family Practice and feels that it helped to give him a good foundation in medicine. Mr.Barclay has also worked for Correctional Medical Services at the Nampa Community Work Center.
Mr. Barclay has a passion for seeing results in his dermatology patients. There are various skin diseases that manifest in similar ways, and he has a passion for taking on the challenge to find the right cure. Mr. Barclay is currently a member of the SDPA, the AAPA, the NCCPA (National Commission on Certified Physician Assistants), and the IAPA (Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants).
Mr. Barclay has been active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning his Eagle Scout Award and has served as an Assistant Scout Master. He enjoys spending time with his wife and growing family.
