Microdermabrasion
Improve Circulation and Brighten Your Look in Fruitland, Idaho
Microdermabrasion at Fruitland, Idaho's The MedSpa by CT Derm utilizes low suction and a specially designed wand to gently remove the dead skin cells on the outermost layer of your skin. Microdermabrasion increases circulation and stimulates collagen while revealing newer, brighter skin. It is recommended as a set of three to six treatments spaced three to six weeks apart. One or two booster treatments are recommended every four months after completion of the series. Microdermabrasion is also a great add-on to maximize the results of other deeper treatments.
We recommend microdermabrasion as a treatment for fine lines, sun-damaged skin, superficial age spots, acne—including blackheads and whiteheads—blemishes, and oily or congested skin.

How to Prepare for a Microdermabrasion Session
We recommend that you get ready for your microdermabrasion treatment by having Epionce™ Milky Lotion Cleanser or Epionce™ Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream, and Epionce™ Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 ready for your post-treatment at-home care.
The Microdermabrasion Treatment
What to Expect Prior to Treatment
Your skin will be prepared and cleansed to remove make-up or skincare products.
What to Expect During Treatment
The technician will make several passes with the wand over the treatment area, with zero to moderate discomfort. This treatment typically takes about 45 minutes.
What to Expect After Treatment
A layer of Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream and Epionce™ Ultra Shield SPF 50 will be applied to the treated area prior to leaving the MedSpa. We ask that you avoid direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours.
Note that we use microdermabrasion to prepare the skin for many other cosmetic treatments, such as the chemical peel and cosmetic photodynamic therapy.
Post-Microdermabrasion At-Home Care
It is recommended that you cleanse the treated area about every 12 hours with a gentle cleanser such as Epionce™ Milky Lotion Cleanser or Epionce™ Gentle Foaming Cleanser for the first two to three days. After cleansing, and if the treated area begins to feel dry, apply Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream followed by two applications of Epionce™ Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50, with the second application applied 30 minutes after the first one. You should be able to continue your normal skincare program after two to four days—making sure to apply sunscreen daily year round.
What You Should Know
There is a possibility you may have mild discomfort or pain, acne flare-ups, or slightly lighter or darker spots after your treatment. Even more rare is the possibility that you may have bruising, redness, itching, irritation, small red spots called petechiae, and swelling for a period of two hours to four days. Another rare side effect is mild flaking or peeling up to 10 days.
