ThermiVa® for Vaginal Rejuvenation
Restore Control, Sensation, and More in Your Most Intimate Area in Fruitland, Idaho
The skin on your face is not the only part of the body impacted by collagen and elastin loss. Age and childbirth can also cause collagen and elastin levels to decline in the vaginal area, leading to thinning, dryness, and other undesirable changes. With ThermiVa® for vaginal rejuvenation at Fruitland, Idaho's The MedSpa by CT Derm, we can promote renewed collagen and elastin production without the need for incisions, ablation, or anesthesia.
Each ThermiVa® vaginal rejuvenation session is driven by the delivery of radiofrequency energy, which is the same technology behind ThermiSmooth® skin tightening for face and neck rejuvenation. This energy moves through the surface into deeper layers of skin, where it stimulates fibroblasts to create new collagen and elastin molecules. This increase in collagen and elastin fibers thickens the vaginal walls, improves the framework that houses moisture-providing hyaluronic acid, and provides supple, flexible tissue. We do not use laser treatments because they do not stimulate production of elastin fibers.
Who Is an Ideal Candidate for ThermiVa for Vaginal Rejuvenation?
ThermiVa® vaginal rejuvenation can work well for anyone who has noticed an unfavorable and uncomfortable change in their vaginal area. Hormone shifts, such as those caused by menopause, as well as physical trauma like childbirth and age-related decreases in skin fibers and hyaluronic acid causes sensitive vaginal tissues to be altered.
Dryness and thinner tissues can cause a host of problems, from lack of sensation during intercourse to discomfort and pain to a weakening of the pelvic floor that leads to stress incontinence, which is loss of bladder control during high-impact activities, such as jogging, jump-roping, or even laughing.
Patients who want to address these problems to improve their quality of life, but who do not want surgery, may be the ideal candidates for ThermiVa® vaginal rejuvenation.
What Happens Before ThermiVa® for Vaginal Rejuvenation ?
Dr. Cynthia McKim will meet personally with patients who are expressing dissatisfaction with the condition of their vaginal area. Dr. McKim leads these complimentary consultations with compassion and discretion.
What Happens During ThermiVa® Vaginal Rejuvenation?
The ThermiVa® vaginal rejuvenation handpiece is carefully applied to the internal and exterior genital structures that need remodeling. The device is non-invasive, so all contact stays on top of the skin surface. As the handpiece moves along, it delivers the radiofrequency energy to tighten lax tissues and provide a functional and cosmetic benefit. The entire treatment process should last about 30 to 45 minutes.
What Happens After ThermiVa® Vaginal Rejuvenation?
The collagen and elastin fiber restoration process is gradual, so vaginal rejuvenation patients should expect their results to develop in the following weeks and last for anywhere from nine months to two years. Some patients experience a significant improvement after only one treatment. Each person is different, and the duration of the results depend on such factors as diet, activity, age, and whether there are more hormone shifts or babies born.
To maximize results, we recommend a few ThermiVa® for vaginal rejuvenation treatments spaced apart by four to eight weeks. This can provide a cumulative beneficial effect. If you enjoy the results, you can also schedule one or more annual booster treatments or recurring visits on a longer-term basis.
